Laboratory for Electron Microscopy
Winter quarter, 2 units
Laboratory - 6 hours laboratory work per week
Prerequisite: EMS-230 taken concurrently
Principles and basic techniques in transmission electron microscopy.

Introduction
This is a graduate course covering many of the basic aspects of transmission electron microscopy. The students learn about electron optics, beam-specimen interaction, electron diffraction and imaging. They operate the TEM and perform basic instrument calibration procedures and specimen analyses.  Among these are:

bulletG dot b and similar techniques
